LEV Testing
Demonstrating adequate control of the risks to the health of employees from dusts, mists, fumes and vapours, is the fundamental requirement of the Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2001.
Current regulations require Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems to be maintained in an efficient state, in an efficient working order and in good repair. All plant deteriorates with time therefore regular monitoring and testing forms an important part of the proactive maintenance.
Achieving the required level of control of these risks ensures not only legislative compliance, but also a healthy workforce, which itself leads to a reduction in down time and an increase in productivity.
COSHH compliance
Our COSHH compliance services offer the provision of:
- Bespoke COSHH management systems, tailored to the level of risk to health associated with the processes being undertaken.
- Monitoring of employee exposures to substances hazardous to health as required by Regulation 10
- Examination & testing of engineering control measures such as local exhaust ventilation (LEV) as required under Regulation 9 including design services to mitigate problems with exposure control.
- Sick building syndrome investigations within office environments where employee complaints of ill health are received.
- Auditing of of all procedures, record keeping and drafting of risk assessments as required under all COSHH Regulations 1999, including recommendations of steps to be taken to ensure full compliance with legislative requirements and achieve adequate control of employee exposures to substances hazardous to health.
Environmental protection monitoring
Through our Environmental protection monitoring services we offer:
- Measurement of pollutants emitted to atmosphere by stack emission monitoring, including particulates, gases, vapours, fumes, and odour for all processes including those that are LAPC & IPPC regulated.
- Measurement of fugitive emissions to atmosphere by methods such as boundary monitoring.
- Calculation of stack discharge heights to achieve adequate dispersion.
- All services provided follow the appropriate standards required such as HSE and BSI methods. Any samples taken are analysed at UKAS registered laboratories.
The above services are not only offered across the UK , but also world wide, where previous projects include work in Russia, Thailand and China.
